Double Flop Poker Rules

Double Flop is a unique variation of Texas Holdem poker, in which players actually participate in two Texas Holdem games at once. As the name implies, there are two Flops players, as well as two Turns and two Rivers. In the end, there are two hands developed by each player, with the winners of each hand splitting the pot.

Double Flop Rules – Texas Holdem

1. Blind bets are placed.

2. Two Hole Cards are dealt to each player.

3. The first round of betting takes place.

4. The dealer places 3 Community Cards in the center of the table – the Flop.

5. The dealer then places another set of 3 Community Cards on the table – the Double Flop. This set is placed below the first set of Community Cards.

6. The second betting round takes place.

7. The dealer will place a fourth Community Card on the first set of Community Cards – the Turn card.

8. The dealer will place a fourth Community Card on the second set of Community Cards – the Double Turn.

9. A third betting round takes place.

10. The dealer will places a fifth and final Community Card on the first set of Community Cards – the River.

11. The dealer again places a fifth Community Cards, this time on the second set of Community Cards – the Double River.

12. The fourth and final betting round commences.

13. All players who have not folded will combine their hole cards with the first set of Community Cards to develop the strongest possible 5-card poker hand. The player with the highest ranking poker hand wins half of the pot.

14. These same players will then combine their same hole cards with the second set of Community Cards, again developing the strongest possible poker hand. Once more, the highest ranking poker hand wins the other half of the pot.

Note: It is possible for the same player to win both halves of the Double Flop Texas Holdem pot.

The only reason Double Flop rules haven't become more wide spread in Texas Holdem poker rooms is because most players are not willing to give up half of the pot on a winning hand. However, just as the split-pot poker game of Omaha Hi/Lo sky-rocketed in popularity over recent years, don't be surprised if Double Flop rules begin to pop up in more poker rooms around the world.
