Let it Ride is a spin-off of 5 Card Stud, but is unlike most poker games, as the player is competing only with himself – not any other players, nor the dealer. In fact, it's more like a Video Poker game, minus the machine. Let it Ride often comes with an optional side bet called the Bonus Bet, which can be worth as much as $25,000.
The object of Let it Ride is to achieve a 5-card poker hand of at least two 10's. Any hand with a Pair of 10's or better wins. Anything less loses. The higher the hand ranks, the more you can win.
Each player at the table will place 3 bets in the three betting circles in front of them, marked 1, 2 and 3. There may also be an optional Bonus Bet, but we'll get into that later. Players are then dealt 3 cards each, face down. The dealer will also place two cards in front of himself, both face down.
Without showing their cards to anyone else, each player will look at his own three cards. The is then asked if he wants to remove the first bet, or “let it ride”. After making their decisions, the dealer will reveal one of the two cards that were dealt face down. This is the first of two community cards, used by all players to create their final 5-card poker hand.
Once more, players are asked if they want to remove one bet, or “let it ride”.
The last hidden card is turned face up, completing each player's 5-card poker hand.
The dealer will pay all winning poker hands, and claim all losing bets, and the hand is over.
This is the standard pay table for Let it Ride. Actual pay tables may vary.
Royal Flush: Pays 1,000 to 1
Straight Flush: Pays 200 to 1
4 of a Kind: Pays 50 to 1
Full House: Pays 11 to 1
Flush : Pays 8 to 1
Straight: Pays 5 to 1
3 of a Kind: Pays 3 to 1
Two Pair: Pays 2 to 1
Pair (10’s or better): Pays 1 to 1
Note that the payout is based on the number of bets a player left on the table. For example, if a player bet $1 in each betting circle, and chose not to remove any of them, his total bet is $3. A hand of Two Pair would pay 2 to 1, for a total return of $9 ($6 profit + $3 original bet returned).
The Bonus Bet is an optional, $1 side bet. In order to win the Bonus bet, a player's hand must contain a 3 of a Kind or better. The best possible hand, a Royal Flush, will pay $25,000.
The maximum payout on any Let it Ride hand is $25,000. If a player wagers $3 in normal bets, plus a $1 Bonus Bet, and is dealt a Royal Flush, he will receive the max $25,000 payout, rather than $28,000 ($25,000 for the Bonus + $3,000 for the normal 1,000 to 1 payout on a Royal Flush.)
Since the Bonus Bet can only be placed in amounts of $1, there the payouts are a predefined cash amount, as shown below.
Royal Flush - $25,000
Straight Flush - $2,500
4 of a Kind - $400
Full House – $200
Flush - $50
Straight – $25
3 of a Kind – $5
