Online Gambling: Seven Charged In Internet Gambling Ring

Seven Las Vegas residents charged with involvement in an extensive Web-gambling ring pleaded not guilty at an arraignment and detention hearing in U.S. District Court Wednesday.

Richard Carson-Selman, Henry Bankey, Tina Hill, Lombardo brothers Baron, Count and Francisco, and Francisco’s wife Kimberlie were charged with 34 felony counts of racketeering, bank fraud, wire fraud and money laundering, which carry sentences up to 20-30 years in prison.

Israeli Censorship Law Could Hurt Online Casinos

A new law proposed by conservative Israeli politician Amnon Cohen could see Internet Service Providers (ISPs) solely responsible for blocking children from accessing adult content websites, including online gambling sites.

Proposition 892 has already passed the primary voting stage in the Israeli Knesset and is designed to protect children ‘from the dangers of pornography, violence and gambling’.

CIE arrests nine in online baseball gambling scam

The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) yesterday arrested nine suspects in connection with a professional baseball illegal online gambling operation.

The alleged ringleader was Chou Kuo-an, 37, while Huang Chun-chieh, 30, was the server operator.

Chou, Huang, and seven others were arrested by CIB operatives in collaboration with Taoyuan County police in parts of Hsinchuan City and Taipei County.
