888 reports record 2006 earnings despite closure of US-facing ops UPDATE
LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Online gaming firm 888 Holdings PLC reported record 2006 earnings despite its US-facing operations, which had accounted for 55 pct of the business, being ruled illegal from the start of the fourth quarter.
Pretax profit before share benefit charges and reorganisation costs rose by 34 pct to 90.5 mln usd, from 67.4 mln usd the previous year.
That was substantially ahead of market forecasts, which ranged between 58.3-76.4 mln usd.
