New US push for Internet gambling ban

WASHINGTON: United States will use a World Trade Organisation procedure to clarify its ban on online gambling, a US trade representative said yesterday.

A measure signed into law by President George W Bush prohibits US banks and credit card companies from processing payments to online gambling businesses outside the US, taking many of these companies by surprise.
