Focus on Family Urges Bush to Enforce Online Gambling Bill

Focus on Family wants President Bush to enforce a law that allows online horse racing. Their concern that the Treasury Department will fall short of imposing regulations on credit cards for use in online gambling has prompted Tom Minnery, Senior Vice President, Government & Public Policy to draft a letter to Mr. Bush.

“Assign several federal law-enforcement professionals (approximately five agents) to obtain and make a list of Internet gambling businesses whose financial transactions should be blocked. (Several federal agencies - FinCEN and OFAC - already monitor and block financial transactions to known terrorists and criminals. A list of unlawful Internet gambling operations could be added easily.”
