WTO RULING ON INTERNET GAMBLING
The tiny island nation of Antigua is seeking compensation from the United States after a landmark World Trade Organization ruling on Internet gambling was formally adopted on Tuesday May 22nd.
Antigua became the smallest country in the WTO to successfully litigate a case, which lead to a WTO ruling that US restrictions on Internet gambling are illegal. Now the nation with a population of less than 80,000 has threatened, among other possible measures, to target U.S. trademarks, copyrights and telecommunications companies as a means of compensation.
