Online gambling growing rapidly in SA
Online gambling makes up a small share of all gambling in SA, but its use is growing rapidly and the potential for hazard is great. ‘It has the potential to become the most risky form of gambling,’ said Peter Collins, the executive director of the National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP).
The NRGP is a public-private sector partnership involved in research, monitoring, education and counselling around problem gambling. The Cape Times says that online gambling holds a high potential for risk because players can gamble as much as they liked.
