EU gave 60 days France and Sweden to remove their gambling restrictions

France and Sweden were asked by the European Commission (EC) to remove their gambling monopolies, which restrict foreign gambling companies to enter their market.

The EC has warned Sweden and France that they have 60 days that to open their gambling market for other countries and remove their monopolies. If they don’t do this they will be referred to the European Court of Justice.

The online gambling restrictions in France and Sweden are not compatible with Article 49 of the EC Treaty, according to it there mustn’t be any restrictions in services within the EU.
