Super Bowl Rematch On Tap
Saturday night means a highly anticipated Super Bowl XXIII as the Cincinnati Bengals take their act to San Francisco to battle the 49ers. This time it’s different. No Montana, Rice, Craig or Lott for the 49ers. The Bengals don’t have Boomer Esiason either though. Despite the lackluster match-up, it is on national television.
Rutgers hosting #1-ranked UNC
The Tar Heels are rolling. Ranked #1 in pre-season polls the boys in baby blue are 8-0 so far this season, including 3-0 in road games. Sunday night (8pm ET) they’re in New Jersey to take on the 6-3 Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Sure, they’re just Rutgers, but they’re undefeated at home (6-0) and have wins over Dartmouth and Princeton (stop laughing).
Octagon Odds
How can a former world champion with a 20 fight win streak be an underdog? Well, he’d have to be fighting somebody like Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell. That’s exactly what’s happening 12/29 at UFC 79: Nemesis. Wanderlei Silva, a former PRIDE middleweight champion, comes into this fight as a huge underdog to Liddell. Also on the card is George St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes for the interim welterweight championship.
