(PRWEB) — Cory Tymich, a 34-year-old poker player from Surrey, British Columbia in Canada, will represent Titan Poker, the largest poker room on the iPoker Network, at the World Poker Showdown Ocean World in the Dominican Republic in May 2008. Cory has previously represented Titan Poker in Las Vegas at the 2007 Pokerface Tournament, and at the South African Poker Open in February 2008. The WPS Ocean World will be Cory’s third time representing Titan Poker at a live event. Cory is “3 for 3″ at Super Satellites on Titan Poker. During these qualifying tournaments on Titan Poker, Cory has never played and not won. On February 3, Cory actually won twice. In addition to his WPS Ocean World Tournament accomplishment, he also finished in 3rd place in the $200,000 Guaranteed Prize Tournament where he banked $16,000. Considering that Cory has only been playing at Titan Poker since August 2006, he has reaped a tremendous amount of success from these ventures. Cory’s Prize Package to the WPS Ocean World event is worth a total of $9,000. This package includes his flights and travel costs, accommodations for seven nights, all meals, drinks, snacks, a seat at the Poker Main Event worth $2,650, and spending money. Titan Poker offers many opportunities to qualify for live poker events, and satellites for the WPS Ocean World are ongoing.
When recently asked what compelled him to play the night he qualified for the WPS Ocean World in the Dominican Republic, Cory simply replied, “My wife wanted a vacation.” It looks as though travel is a definite part of his wife’s future. Along with their 5-year-old daughter, she is currently accompanying him at the South African Poker Open at the Montecasino in Gauteng, South Africa.
