betED releases odds for 2009 Super Bowl

The New York Giants haven’t even held their parade for winning Super Bowl XLII yet but online sportsbook betED.com is already offering odds on which team will win Super Bowl XLIII. Despite the loss on Sunday the New England Patriots are listed as the odds-on favorites to capture next year’s Super Bowl. At +400 the Patriots are ahead of all other contenders including the San Diego Chargers (+600), the Indianapolis Colts (+1300) and the Dallas Cowboys (+1600). Not surprisingly this marks the fifth consecutive year that the Patriots were listed as the pre-season favorite for a Super Bowl victory. Winning the Super Bowl this past Sunday has not earned the New York Giants much respect from betED.com oddsmakers. Even with a large percentage of their team set to return next season the Giants are almost considered long shots at +3100. Their biggest challenge may be in making the playoffs given they play in the same division as the previously mentioned Cowboys.
