Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Everest Poker sponsored player, Wooka Kim (also known online as –icebeer–), Japan’s female poker champion will be playing this August in Macau in two of the most important Asian poker tournaments, the Asian Poker Tour and Asia Pacific Poker Tour.

Kim won the opportunity of a lifetime when she was chosen for a spot on the Everest Poker Team at Everest Poker’s 2008 Live the Dream event. Kim was chosen from thousands of players to be Everest Poker’s ambassador to Asia and represent Everest Poker in all the major poker tournaments from March 2008 to March 2009.

Since Live the Dream, Kim has played in some of the biggest poker tournaments in the world including the EPT Finale in Monaco and the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. She has seen great success in these tournaments taking home $25,090 from the WSOP.

Kim first started playing poker on Everest Poker in 2006 and within a year she had built her bankroll to over $90,000. In May of 2007 she participated in the All Japan Poker Championship, the largest live poker tournament in Japan and won the Ladies Tournament.
Kim is not only a poker player, but also an entrepreneur. She owns and operates two restaurants in her hometown of Osaka Japan.

Next you will find Kim playing in this year’s Asian Poker Tour and Asia Pacific Poker Tour in Macau as a part of her sponsorship with Everest Poker. The APT Macau will be held from 27-31 August 2008 at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Macau. Five hundred players are expected to show up for the No Limit Texas Hold’em main event with a buy-in of $5,000+300. The APPT Macau will be held at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino 1-9 September. Team Everest Climbing High at World Series of Poker

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

In April Everest Poker took 200 amateur poker players to Vienna for the final of their Live The Dream promotion with the intention of picking ten online players to become their brand ambassadors for a whole year and play in the best – and toughest – poker tournaments in the world.
Now at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the biggest poker tournament in the world, Team Everest are already making a huge impression.
So far three of the team have been in the money in the side events which bodes well for their first attempt at the Main Event where players will pit their wits for the first prize of over $8,000,000.
Finnish player, Voitto “Random Eyes” Rintalla made the final table of Event 52, coming 9th and bagging a cool $57,000. Voitto, a famous rock star in his native Finland, is fast becoming known on the poker circuit as both a feared opponent and for his trademark contact lenses
(pictured).
But the list of Everest Poker winners does not stop there. Augusto Cavazzini from Venezuela who qualified for the WSOP online, investing just $3.30, walked away from Event 49 with $17,530.
Dutchman and Team Everest player, Daan “Krul” Slutter cashed $8,855 in Event 48.
Otto Richard, from France, a Team Everest member and World Champion ‘Magic: The Gathering’ winner transferred his skills to the poker table seamlessly earlier this week in Event 41, coming 35th and banking $4,687.
With the Main Event starting today, the Everest Poker Team are in great form as the expectation mounts on the newest professionals on the circuit.
Everest Poker are the felt sponsors of all tables at the WSOP.
